Cultivating, Creating, Canning...
The bounty that we cultivate here at River Myst Haven inspires us to find meaningful, artisan approaches to preserve the farm-grown flavor in our specialty food items which are intended to inspire and enhance your culinary experiences.
RMH Wines Pinot Noir
Nestled on a slope of the Russian River Valley, our location essentially demands that we make a pinot noir: “The Russian River Valley AVA is one of 13 American Viticulture Areas contained within the boundary of Sonoma County. Pinot Noir, a difficult grape to grow, native to the Burgundy region of France, achieves greatness in only a handful of places worldwide, and the Russian River Valley is one of those places.”* Our single vineyard pinot noir offers the classic profile of a bold, complex red mellowed by subtle aging of this wonderful varietal.
River Myst Haven Pinot Vinegar
Great wine makes great "vin aigre" (that's French for sour wine). We’ve experimented with traditional methods of making vinegar—slow and steady conversion of good wine to bright, sharp (yet mellow) red wine vinegar—and have found a flavor profile that draws on the unique features of our RMH Wines pinot. We’re sure you’ll be impressed with the vivid, complex notes we’ve achieved—perfect for dressing vegetables, culinary exploits, or any time you want to add a sharp note to a dish.
River Myst Haven Red Raspberry Confiture
We know raspberries—we’ve been cultivating them continuously since we founded River Myst Haven. So, we have been working with these unique sweet/tart berries for years, and we've found great success in preserving the deep, rich flavors of raspberries by making simple yet delectably wonderful jams, in small batches, a couple of times a year. We started with an old-fashioned heritage jam inspired by early, traditional recipes. Yum! Then, we decided to play with this jam to develop a raspberry confiture (preserved fruit with added sweetness) that we can say, “Isn’t your Grandma’s jam.” We reduced the sweetness of a typical preserve and added some subtle savory notes that make this jam perfect for cheeses, savory recipes, tarts and glazes.
Soon we will be adding to our citrus harvest with grapefruit, limes, several oranges, lemons, Yuzu, and cumquats. You can be sure these fruits will continue to inspire our creativity.
