RMH Vineyard

Well, here we are in 2012, almost two full years since we planted our grapes and I'm happy to report that the vineyard is progressing very well. Since that first year "washout", the cover crop has done its job and is well established.

The vines are growing beautifully and they are being cultivated very well by Rick Moshin and his crew from Moshin Vineyards Winery (our partner and good neighbor). Some of the vines even sprouted their first grapes this past fall. The soil amendments that we added before planting turned out to be the right stuff.

From our total planted acreage of just under two acres, we are anticipating our first crop (hopefully about two tons of grapes) by 2014, and the total yield after that should be around five or six tons of grapes annually. Right now it's all about establishing good root systems. The vines will be cropped down again soon to help the process and then it's mostly up to Mother Nature, but we are very encouraged by their progress so far.

That's the continuing story of the River Myst Haven Vineyard.

We look forward to pouring the first glass of wine containing River Myst Haven Vineyard grapes in the not too distant future!

CHEERS!
